Definition of Natural Wine

21 February 2012

Defining natural wines can be quite difficult, there’s no legalisation stating what a natural wine actually is, so it’s often open to the interpretation of the producer. Good winemakers try to make wine with as little intervention as possible.

Ideally, a natural wine would be unfiltered, unfined and have not additional sulphur, this however isn’t always possible.

Natural wines are made in small quantities by independent producers; large quantities of wine bought by supermarkets needs to last, so sulphites are added. Sulphites are what keep Rosé pink in colour.

The grapes for natural wines are grown on low yielding vineyards – the more room the grapes have to grow the better quality they are. These grapes are handpicked and organically grown without chemical tampering.

The wine is also produced without the addition of sugar or artificial yeasts and without any adjustments to acidity.

Most natural wines are not filtered or fined; this isn’t always the case, but if a natural wine is filtered it will be very lightly and it will only be fined using organic egg-white. Sometimes sulphur is added, but only at bottling and in very small amounts.

Completely natural wines are very difficult to achieve, but the best winemakers will always try. Unfortunately the process of making a wine cannot always be decided in advance and a winemaker has to step in to stop a batch from spoiling. Every once in a while it is achieved, but we have to give some margin for error, however small.

Accountants Bangor

19 January 2012

There are numerous ways that an accountant can help your business succeed. Most people think an accountant simply accountants bangorfills in forms and keeps the tax man happy, but there’s a lot more to it than that.

Throughout North Wales there are numerous businesses that employ  Accountants Bangor and other regions to help their business grow.

An accountant helps your business grow and will save you time and money.

If you’re running a business you’ll probably want to spend your time doing what you’re good at. A lot of small businesses spend time completing their own forms, especially if there isn’t too many of them and they’re straight forward enough, but sometimes, mistakes are made or the forms are filled out as efficiently as they could be.

If a business does miss a deadline for important documents, such as submitting company accounts to HMRC, then they can end up being handed large fines.

Completing a form incorrectly can result in a tax inspector wanting to look over every piece of paper a company is filling in.

Accountants are not only good at filling in the forms and right paper work; they’re also efficient at saving your company money. A good accountant will make sure to take advantage of all the legal ways to minimise your tax.

It’s often mentioned that rich people pay less tax in percentage terms, but this is usually because large corporations have accountants managing their tax payments.

Accountants are also great at helping grow businesses, as well as doing the paper work and helping to minimise tax, the success of many businesses can depend on the financial and managerial decisions that are taken early on; with an accountant being a great source of advice.

Accountants often know a business as well as the owner, perhaps knowing the financial side even better; having objectives input from an outside source can do wonders when helping to grow your business.

Heating systems usually heat the air and use convection to disperse heat throughout a room. The method is very infrared heating north waleswasteful in terms of energy usage and can be rather inefficient, leaving cold spots as the air cools. This style of heating system can potentially be very expensive.

Infrared Heating North Wales Systems are based on modern infrared technology, which heats all of the materials within a room. This type of heating system does not rely on convection, removing a possibility of cold spots, giving a constant warm environment and proving the most efficient system.

Infrared heaters work by transferring energy to bodies (furniture and people) with a lower temperature through electromagnetic radiation. No contact or medium between the two bodies is needed for energy transfer.

Electrically heated infrared heaters can radiate over 85% of their input as radiant energy. Nearly all of the electrical energy input is converted into infrared radiant heat in the filament and directed onto the product by reflectors. The small amount of energy lost is due to conduction or convection.

Stoves and Fires

17 January 2012

Many homes have decorative stoves as part of their home heating system, proving to be very efficient. Different types wood burning stovesof stoves use different fuels, there are several types, including Multi Fuel, Wood Burning, Cast Iron, Gas Fires, Inset Fires and Pellet Stoves. Choosing a stove can depend on where it is intended for use and which fuel you will be using.

Concerns about air pollution, climate change and deforestation have brought on new efforts to improve stove design. Some of the changes being made have been innovations for biomass burning stoves. Most stoves have always consumed a large amount of fuel but released only a limited amount of heat, all while producing polluting fumes. New designs increase the efficiency of stoves meaning that stove users can use less fuel, avoid possible health issues related to the smoke and reduce deforestation and air pollution.

Traditional wood burning stoves are constructed of solid metal, like cast iron or steel in a closed fire chamber with a brick base and an adjustable air control. These stoves are designed to burn just wood or wood-derived biomass, but modern wood burning stoves are fairly easily converted to multi-fuel stoves.

Multi Fuel stoves are capable of burning coal and peat as well as wood. A stove with a grate for the fire to burn on and a removable ash pan tend to be Multi Fuel stoves. The stoves are becoming increasingly popular as the demand for alternative types of fuel increases.

Pellet Stoves burn compressed wood or biomass pellets and are often used as a source of heat for residential and commercial establishments. The fuel burns slowly as it is fed from a storage container into a burn pot area. The appearance of Pallet Stoves has changed over time, from mundane boxes to decorative heating appliances.

Pellet Stoves are good all round appliances which are usually self igniting and cycle themselves on and off, controlled by a thermostat. Some recent developments can be remote controlled.
