During Cataract Surgery a clear part of your cataract called the capsule is intentionally left behind. This capsule acts as a scaffold to hold the artificial lens in place.

The capsule loses its clarity over time and gets frosted. The frosted capsule affects your vision by hindering light entry inside the eye.

This is treated with a YAG Laser.
