construction north walesThroughout the year of 2015 there has been a rise in civil engineering and groundwork contractors across the UK, with a large selection of contracts well underway in the North West region. More and more projects are starting for local communities, all of which require experienced staff as well as a team of dedicated enthusiasts to assist.

Jennings Building & Civil Engineering Contractors have been heavily involved in a number of large contracts in 2015 alone, with one of their major projects being the North Wales ‘Super’ Prison. This is set to be the largest prison in the UK and the second largest in Europe. Based on Wrexham Industrial Estate, the prison will be replacing the former Firestone Factory with a £250 million contract. The prison will create over 760 jobs and will house just over 2,000 inmates.

Civil engineering and groundwork contractors across the globe are all involved with shaping the cities we live in today into a better place. They rebuild cities after natural disasters, using sea defences to protect communities and building bridges to help us commute from one place to another.

The North West of England is growing and requires more roads, offices, homes and improved services which the likes of Jennings Building & Civil Engineering Contractors assists with.  Every day we use and rely on a variety of things which have been created by civil engineers; they supply energy, clean water to our homes, process and recycle our waste, find solutions to problems like pollution and much, much more!

Jennings have welcomed five new General Construction Operative Apprentices to the company, all of which are undergoing extensive training to achieve an NVQ Level 2 in Construction Operations. Throughout their two year course and work experience they will cover topics such as methods and materials, how to set out for groundworks, kerb-laying and paving as well as drainage, laying and testing.
